PRINCIPAL

Axiom Consulting Partners is seeking high-performing professionals to join our team in the role of Principal. Axiom’s Principals leverage their skills and experience to develop client solutions in areas including strategy assessment and implementation, strategic and operational planning, business process and organizational design, talent management and leadership development.  As a core member of our team, Principals work with colleagues and client personnel at all levels to drive the design and implementation of business transformation and growth initiatives.  The Principal role is primarily focused on applying subject matter and project management expertise to drive client solution development and support business development. Well-honed organizational, analytical and communication skills are essential for success in this role.  

Key Responsibilities:

  • Works closely with Partners and other Axiom colleagues to scope projects, frame key issues and determine approaches for solving client issues
  • Applies subject matter expertise to participate or lead solution development including data gathering and analyses methodologies, the identification of findings, development of messages and creation of tools, frameworks and materials for client communications
  • Guides, and in some cases builds, quantitative and qualitative analyses to generate new insights that inform or support solutions and recommendations
  • Crafts and delivers compelling storylines from insights developed through data gathering and analysis
  • Develops and manages detailed project plans for large client engagements that ensure delivery of high impact recommendations and solutions
  •  Manages and helps develop consultants to build Axiom’s intellectual capital
  • Builds upon client experience to contribute to Axiom’s intellectual property
  • Identifies and scopes new opportunities with existing clients and leads or supports the development of new proposals

Candidate Profile:

The ideal candidate will possess:

  • 7-10+ years of management consulting experience advising senior level clients, with demonstrated relevant subject matter expertise in strategy, innovation, growth and/or organization transformation
  • An MBA or alternate post-graduate education (i.e., business, psychology or engineering)
  • Strong business acumen (e.g., knowledge of business operations, financial analysis, organization effectiveness)
  • Ability to lead issue diagnosis, solution development and nuanced executive-level communication for large complex projects
  • Experience managing teams of other professionals to deliver high quality work to senior executives
  • Above average capabilities in structuring quantitative and qualitative approaches to ensure effective problem solving
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills, with an emphasis on clarity and precision as evidenced through: business writing; development of presentation materials; delivery of presentations and communicating in group and one-to-one settings
  • Demonstrated leadership capabilities in a professional capacity, educational group, or civic organization
  • Collaborative and learning orientation
  • Demonstrated relationship development/ business development skills
  • Willingness to travel

CONSULTANT

Axiom Consulting Partners is seeking high-performing professionals to join our team in the role of Consultant. Our work will expose you to a wide range of disciplines including, strategy assessment and implementation, strategic and operational planning, business process and organizational design, talent management and leadership development. As a core member of our team, Consultants work with colleagues and client personnel at all levels to design and implement business transformation and growth initiatives. The Consultant role is principally responsible for supporting solution development through data gathering, research, quantitative and qualitative analyses and development of high quality written materials.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develops the approach and manages the execution of all data gathering including detailed client data requests, interview guides, survey design and deployment, and participates in client interviews
  • Performs data analyses (quantitative and qualitative) as part of Axiom’s diagnostic approach
  • Develops and tests hypotheses to generate insight and provide actionable business intelligence
  • Drafts compelling, high-quality written materials that communicate important messages simply and effectively
  • Contributes to the development of client presentations that represent Axiom’s point of view and builds support for our recommendations
  • Builds, maintains and grows professional peer-to-peer relationships with clients
  • Contributes to the development of Axiom’s intellectual property

Candidate Profile:

The ideal candidate will possess:

  • 3+ years of management consulting/professional services experience advising senior level clients, with demonstrated relevant subject matter expertise in strategy, organization or talent, or equivalent experience in areas such as finance, investment banking, or data-driven marketing 
  • Strong business acumen (e.g., knowledge of business operations, financial analysis, organization effectiveness)
  • High proficiency with analysis and modeling in Excel (facility with Access, or other databases, as well as advanced tools and statistical methods is not required but is highly valued)
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills, with an emphasis on clarity and precision as evidenced through: business writing; development of presentation materials; delivery of presentations and communicating in group and one-to-one settings
  • An MBA or alternate post-graduate education (i.e., business, psychology or engineering) is preferred
  • Demonstrated leadership capabilities in a professional capacity, educational group, or civic organization

PRINCIPAL CONSULTANT:

Organizational Effectiveness and Change Management

Axiom Consulting Partners is seeking an experienced (12+ years) management consultant to join our team as a Principal, with a particular focus on leading large-scale multi-year transformation and organization effectiveness engagements.

Key Responsibilities:

Client Focus:

  • Develop trusted relationships with client executives and management
  • Embed within a client organization and culture, while maintaining appropriate 3rd party objectivity
  • Work side-by-side with clients to problem solve, implement the most appropriate solutions, and dynamically reprioritize focus and activities over time based on changing needs
  • Craft and deliver compelling storylines, reports, and presentations that simplify complex problems, inform decisions, and impel change

Delivery Focus:

  • Work closely with Partners and other colleagues to design and deliver large, complex, multi-year engagements with multiple work-streams
  • Develop and manage detailed project plans for large client engagements that ensure delivery of high-impact recommendations and solutions
  • Structure and manage multiple streams of work, and efficiently deploy and coordinate complimentary Axiom resources
  • Apply organization effectiveness and change management subject matter expertise to participate in or lead solution development, including data gathering and analyses, the identification of findings, development of key messages and recommendations, and creation of tools, frameworks and materials for client communications

Firm Focus:

  • Manage and develop Axiom consultants
  • Identify, scope, develop and win new project/revenue opportunities with new/existing clients
  • Leverage client experience and subject matter expertise to develop firm intellectual property

Candidate Profile:

The ideal candidate will possess:

  • 12+ years consulting experience, and a demonstrated track-record managing complex large-scale engagements and managing teams of other professionals
  • Ability to develop trusted advisor relationships with senior leaders
  • Strong organization effectiveness and change management subject matter expertise, and well-developed business and organization acumen
  • Systemic thinker with proficiency, track record and creativity in helping clients understand and solve complex business and organization problems
  • Clear, precise, and engaging written and oral communication and presentation skills
  • Ability to handle and thrive in ambiguous and fast-moving working situations
  • MBA or post-graduate Degree in Business, Engineering, or Operations
  • Willingness to travel within the US up to 30% — 50% of the time
  • Residence in Chicago or willingness to relocate
