Dane has amassed over 17 years of experience as a management consultant, most recently, working with major clients worldwide in developing strategic roadmaps to achieve sustained profitable growth. His deep analytical skills have been instrumental in solving complex revenue-side business problems in B2C and B2B markets.
As a consultant, Dane has supported senior management with issues of corporate and business strategy, brand positioning, pricing, customer segmentation and targeting, new product development and improved go-to-market effectiveness. He has led engagements for clients in the pharmaceutical, medical equipment, higher education, retail, CPG, technology, financial services, media and professional services sectors. Representative clients served include Hospira, Hill-Rom, Kraft, University of Vermont, Syngenta, Siebel/Oracle, Sotheby’s, Wolters Kluwer and CH2M Hill.

Dane began his consulting career in 1980 at Booz, Allen & Hamilton, where he was a member of the Global Strategy Practice and one of the first recipients of the firm’s prestigious Professional Excellence Award (PEA) for his work on competitive pricing strategy in the telecommunications industry (1986). He subsequently worked with some of the world’s leading consulting organizations, including RNW Consulting, FTI Helios, Cerenti Marketing Group, and OC&C Strategy Consulting in London.
Outside of consulting, Dane spent over a decade in the packaging industry, initially as Vice President of Planning for Continental Can Company and subsequently as CEO & President of White Cap, Inc., a $200-million global manufacturer of metal and plastic closures for the food & beverage industry. He later served as CEO of Exxceed, a startup software company providing performance management tools and solutions.
Dane holds an M.B.A. in marketing and finance from the University of Chicago, an M.A. from Carnegie-Mellon University, and a B.A. from Friends World College. He also completed all graduate coursework and qualifying examinations for a Ph.D. from Northwestern University.
