Juan Pablo González, Partner

A seasoned consultant, corporate executive and board member, Juan Pablo González is well regarded for helping leading private, public and not-for-profit organizations address their highest growth and execution-focused priorities. His more than 25 years of experience spans a range of critical issues including strategic and operational planning, organization restructuring and transformation, human resources strategy, rewards strategy and program design, and performance measurement.


Prior to joining Axiom Consulting Partners, Juan led consulting practices for Mercer and for RSM. His senior corporate roles included combining and leading the compensation, benefits and human resources information systems functions for Constellation Energy and Baan Company. Juan has also been a consultant with Sibson & Company and held corporate positions with Alexander and Alexander Services, Inc., (now AON), Philip Morris Companies Inc., and Salomon Brothers.

New compensation programs paid for themselves within nine months through a 30% reduction in turnover, 50% reduction in absenteeism and a 25% reduction in overtime expense.
  • Total Reward Strategy Development: Advised industry-leading employers in the development and deployment of their total reward strategies to integrate and guide their companies’ investments in compensation and benefits for maximum ROI.

Publications & Affiliations

Juan is a frequent speaker and author on strategy and talent related topics. He is a co-author of Shockproof – How to Hardwire Your Business for Lasting Success (John Wiley & Sons, 2010) and The Talent Management Handbook, Third Edition (McGraw Hill, 2018). His articles have appeared in publications including CFO magazine, WorldatWork’s workspan and those of the American Society of Association Executives.  Juan serves on the Board of Directors, Executive Committee and Strategy Committee of Northern Virginia Family Service, a $30+million social services agency. Previously, Juan served on Cornell University’s Organizational Effectiveness Advisory Committee, the Human Resources Committee of Ratner Companies (a 12,000 employee, private company that operates 1,000 outlets in 16 states) and been a Director of the Human Resources Leadership Awards of Greater Washington and the Human Resources Leadership Forum.


Juan earned a Master of Arts (Honors) in Organizational Psychology from Columbia University and a Bachelor of Science in Industrial and Labor Relations from Cornell University.
