Don Ruse

Background

Don brings over 25 years of experience as both a practitioner and consultant in helping companies improve their performance by aligning strategy, organization and talent.  Don’s expertise is in helping companies to clarify their strategy and to align their business processes, organization structures, and corporate governance to support its implementation.  Don also works with senior leaders to forecast, develop, and deploy the right talent, in the right place, at the right time, and at the right cost.  His work in Strategic Workforce Planning is recognized globally for its impact in helping companies understand and forecast the number, type, and quality of talent needed to implement their strategy.

Previous Experience

Prior to joining Axiom, Don spent 13 years with Sibson Consulting. Don helped establish and co-led Sibson’s Talent Management and Organization Practice, managed Sibson’s Raleigh office and served as an elected Managing Partner of the firm. Before joining Sibson, Don spent 12 years as a practitioner and manager in the areas of organization development, human resources and strategic planning. He held various management and consulting positions with AlliedSignal, Mobil Oil, The Quaker Oats Company and Lennox International.

Publications and Affiliations

Don speaks frequently on the topics of Global Strategic Workforce Planning and Talent Management. His most recent speeches have highlighted how companies can effectively forecast and manage talent in dynamic labor environments in Asia. He has shared his perspectives with such organizations as The Conference Board, Human Resources Planning Society, Institute for International Research, Society for Human Resources Management and WorldatWork. Don is frequently published and his work has included articles in Research and Technology Management, HR Executive, CUPA Journal, Human Resources Planning and AME’s Target. Don was a contributing author to The Talent Management Handbook and his perspectives have been most recently included in Talent On Demand: Managing Talent in an Age of Uncertainty.

Education

Don holds a Bachelors of Science Degree in Business from Bowling Green State University and is currently completing his Global Executive MBA through the TRIUM program at the London School of Economics, NYU Stern School of Business, and the HEC School of Management in Paris, France.
